Biography

Director – MSC, BSc (Hons), Dip
Leena Gauba is a Dubai based business woman who has been awarded the Woman Leadership Award in Healthcare. She has successfully run companies for more than thirteen years and her business Imperial Healthcare has also been awarded on numerous occasions as Best Eye care Hospital in the Middle East.

Born and raised in London, she studied at an Elite school for girls. Her father being a Physician in the Royal Air force and mother a family doctor meant she had strong role models as discipline and hard work were instilled from a young age.

Coming from a medical background inspired her to study in the field of medicine and so she went on to study a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology with Management at King’s College in London. In her second year she was selected for an Internship with GlaxoSmithkline, the largest Pharmaceutical company in the world. She was sent to Pennsylvania, USA to work in their headquarters and carried out extensive research in the field of cardiovascular pharmacology. During her time, she carried out pioneering research and received much acclaim for her work including a peer review publication. She returned back to university for her final year and graduated with honors.

During her final year she also completed a Diploma with Distinction in Journalism from the London School of Journalism. Between her degrees she interned at Channel 5 and was part of the UK crew that covered the 9/11 bombings.

Her love of learning continued as she then went on to continue her higher education at King’s College and completed a Masters (MSc) in International Management in one year.
With her entrepreneurial spirit she started her own company that raised money for charity. She created a concept of placing snack vending boxes in companies so people had healthy edibles during work. From the sales a generous proportion of the profits received from the product sales were donated to selected children’s charities. The business started on a small scale but grew quickly and was successfully franchised to over twenty franchisees across the U.K raising thousands of pounds for Barnardo’s and Save the Children.

Whilst running the franchise network, she studied and completed a diploma in Image consulting and also worked briefly as a freelance style consultant while running her business.
