A cataract is the gradual clouding of the eye's natural lens, causing blurred vision, glare, reduced colour vibrancy and difficulty in dim light. It is the leading cause of reversible blindness worldwide and is almost entirely correctable with modern surgery.
Our technique uses a highly accurate lens measurement system (Lenstar biometry) combined with premium intraocular lenses (IOLs) to ensure a high proportion of patients achieve complete spectacle freedom after surgery. Phacoemulsification uses ultrasound to gently emulsify the cloudy lens through a tiny 2mm incision, which self-seals without sutures. The procedure takes approximately 20 minutes and is performed as a day case under topical anaesthesia only.
Premium multifocal, extended depth of focus and toric IOLs are available, offering the possibility of freedom from both distance and reading glasses simultaneously, tailored to each patient's visual needs and lifestyle.
